How the TZOKER Jackpot Is Calculated

From ticket sales to the announced next jackpot — the full pari-mutuel and rollover mechanism, step by step.

1. Where the money comes from

Each TZOKER column costs €1.00. A fixed percentage (around 45%) is returned to players as prize money. The remainder covers taxes, retailer commissions and the operating costs of Allwyn (formerly OPAP).

2. Distribution across the 9 prize tiers

Each draw's total prize pool is split into 9 tiers using fixed percentages. About 45% of the pool is allocated to tier 1 (5+1) — this is what becomes "the jackpot."

TierMatchFixed / Pari-mutuel
15 + 1Pari-mutuel + rollover
2 – 95 / 4+1 / 4 / 3+1 / 3 / 2+1 / 1+1 / 2Fixed prizes

3. What "pari-mutuel" means

In a pari-mutuel system, the money allocated to a tier is split evenly among the winners of that tier. In TZOKER, this applies only to tier 1 (5+1); tiers 2–9 pay fixed prizes.

4. What happens when no one wins the jackpot

If no column hits 5+1 in a draw, tier 1's allocation rolls over to the next draw. The jackpot grows cumulatively until it is won. Allwyn usually publishes a guaranteed minimum next-draw jackpot.

5. How the "upcoming jackpot" is announced

A few hours after each draw, Allwyn publishes the projected next jackpot. It is computed from: (a) the un-won amount carried over from the previous tier 1, (b) the expected share of the next draw's sales, and (c) any guaranteed minimum.

6. End-to-end worked example

  1. Draw sales: 10,000,000 columns × €1.00 = €10,000,000.
  2. Total prize pool (~45%): €4,500,000.
  3. Of that, ~45% allocated to tier 1: €2,025,000.
  4. If no one wins, this is added to the running jackpot.
  5. If 1 player wins, they take the full jackpot (including all carried-over rollovers).
  6. If 2 win, they split it 50/50.

7. Tax on the top prize

Prizes above €1,000,000 are subject to a 10% withholding tax before payout. See the full bracket table on the FAQ page.
