TZOKER Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about TZOKER: rules, odds, prize categories, taxation and how to play.
About the Game
What is Tzoker?
Tzoker is one of the most popular lottery games in Greece and Cyprus, organised by OPAP. Players choose 5 or more main numbers from 1 to 45 and at least one Tzoker number from 1 to 20. Draws take place every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 22:00.
Can I play Tzoker online?
Yes, you can play Tzoker online via the official opaponline.gr platform or the OPAP Online mobile app. Online play is only available to players with a verified account and an IP address inside Greece.
Why does the Tzoker jackpot grow so much during holidays?
Holiday periods see a significant rise in the number of players participating, so ticket sales spike and so does the prize pool that funds the jackpot. When there is no first-category winner the amount rolls over to the next draw and accumulates.
How much does it cost to play Tzoker?
The cost depends on how many columns you play. Each column costs €1. For example, picking 6 main numbers and 2 Tzoker numbers gives you 12 columns (6 combinations × 2 Tzokers), so the ticket costs €12.
What are 'hot' and 'cold' numbers in Tzoker?
'Hot' numbers are those that have been drawn frequently within a chosen time window, while 'cold' numbers are those that appear rarely. Because draws are random, these labels do not predict future results — they're only a statistical analysis tool.
Can I select more than one Tzoker number?
Yes, you can pick up to all 20 Tzoker numbers on a single ticket. This increases your chances of catching the right Tzoker, but it also multiplies the cost of the ticket since each extra Tzoker creates new columns.
When do I win a Tzoker prize?
There are 9 prize categories in total: 5+1 (Jackpot), 5 (€100,000), 4+1 (€2,500), 4 (€50), 3+1 (€50), 3 (€2), 2+1 (€2), 1+1 (€1.50) and 2 (€1). You win in whichever category your matching numbers qualify for, regardless of whether you also caught the Tzoker.
Can I enter the same numbers in multiple consecutive draws?
Yes, you can pre-select how many consecutive draws your number selection should automatically enter, both at OPAP stores and online. This means you don't need to fill in a new ticket before every single draw.
Can I auto-play only when the jackpot exceeds a certain amount?
Yes, on opaponline.gr you can configure automatic ticket submission whenever the available jackpot is equal to or larger than an amount you set. This lets you play selectively in the most lucrative draws without having to remember each one.
On which days and until what time can I submit my Tzoker ticket?
Tzoker draws take place every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 22:00. Ticket submission closes at 21:30 on draw days, both at physical OPAP stores and at opaponline.gr — anything submitted after that is forwarded to the next draw.
How often is the Tzoker draw held?
Tzoker draws take place three times a week — every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at approximately 22:00 Greek time. They are broadcast live through OPAP's official YouTube channel.
How do I play Tzoker?
Choose 5 main numbers from 1 to 45 and 1 Tzoker number from 1 to 20. Submit your ticket at an OPAP store or online at opaponline.gr before 21:30 on draw days. If your numbers match the drawn ones in any of the 9 prize categories, you win.
Draw Process
What material are the Tzoker balls made of?
Tzoker balls are made of nonporous synthetic polymer. Every ball weighs approximately 4 grams and the weight may not deviate by more than +/-0.4 grams. Before each draw the balls are weighed by the Independent Lottery Committee using high-precision scales to certify the deviations stay within manufacturer limits.
Why aren't draws done the old-fashioned way by hand?
OPAP follows global lottery standards and uses air-mix draw machines. Air has been shown to be the most reliable way to mix the balls, ensuring true randomness without any human intervention. The machines themselves are manufactured by internationally certified companies.
What happens during the 30 minutes before the draw starts?
The 30 minutes between ticket submission closing at 21:30 and the draw starting around 22:00 are required to secure all entries. Every participating ticket is locked into a file with a key number and forwarded to the Independent Control Committee's system before the draw begins.
Is the Tzoker draw live? When and where can I watch it?
Tzoker draws take place every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at approximately 22:00 Greek time. They are broadcast live via OPAP's official YouTube channel, so anyone interested can watch the numbers being drawn in real time.
Can I attend a live Tzoker draw in person?
The draw verification process and the live draw itself can be attended by anyone interested. You must contact OPAP at least one day in advance on +30 210 5798888 to coordinate access and learn about the entry procedures.
How is the integrity of the draw verified?
Draws are conducted in the presence of an Independent Draws Committee. Before each draw, the drums and balls are inspected and the balls are weighed using high-precision scales. This certifies that any weight deviation stays within the manufacturer's defined margins, guaranteeing a fully random draw.
Who controls the reliability and integrity of the draws?
To guarantee reliability and integrity, multiple controls are carried out by the official Drawing Committee. The precision scales, draw drums and balls are all manufactured by internationally certified companies, and the equipment is systematically checked before every single draw.

Tzoker Group Play
What is Tzoker Group Play and how does it work?
Tzoker Group Play lets you play Tzoker online by purchasing shares in a group ticket. You share both the cost and the winnings with other players, increasing your chances of a win without having to pay for a large ticket on your own.
When is a group ticket considered invalid?
A group ticket is considered invalid if even one share is not filled by the submission deadline. In that case, the money paid by every participant is refunded automatically to their online accounts before the draw takes place.
Can I cancel a group ticket?
No, it is not possible to cancel a group ticket once the share purchase has been completed. From the moment you confirm participation, your share is locked in and cannot be revoked or refunded.
Tzoker Extra
What is Tzoker EXTRA?

How much does playing in EXTRA draws cost?
Participation in draws with EXTRA enabled requires no additional cost. The minimum cost remains €1 per column, exactly the same as in regular draws without EXTRA.
Who is eligible to participate in Tzoker EXTRA draws?
All players who submit a ticket via OPAP stores in Greece or Cyprus, or online at opaponline.gr, are automatically eligible to participate in Tzoker EXTRA draws whenever they take place.
