If you played at an agency
The prize is paid to whoever holds the ticket. There is no name on it.
Amounts below are gross, before tax, per ticket.
| Winnings per ticket | How it is paid |
|---|---|
| Up to €999.99 | Cash at an agency |
| €1,000 – €1,999.99 | Cash at an agency or through a bank, with ID |
| Above €2,000 | Exclusively through a bank, with ID |
| Above €100,000 | Exclusively through a bank, with a payment order from the Athens head office |
For winnings above €100,000 you first call 800-800-5000 free from a landline, or 210 5798888 from a mobile, to be told the process.
Accepted identification is an ID card, a passport, or an equivalent foreign document.
If you played online
Winnings are credited straight to your electronic account. You do not need to do anything.
From there you can request a transfer to a bank account in your own name. The payment order is issued within 72 hours of the request.
For withdrawals of €800 or more, the company first confirms that the payment account genuinely belongs to you.
For net winnings above €100,000 a special process applies. You are informed only by specially authorised staff, and you may be asked to attend the head office in person or by proxy.
The three-month deadline
This deadline applies to agency tickets.
You have three months from the date the winning entry is registered in the Central IT System. After that period the right to collect lapses permanently, whatever the amount.
The same rule covers €2 and €2 million alike.
Online there is no equivalent issue, because winnings are credited immediately.
If you lose the ticket
The prize is paid to the bearer of the ticket. If the ticket is lost, any claim is excluded.
The same applies if it is damaged to the point that the central system cannot identify its details.
Keep your ticket safe and do not share its details with anyone.
What happens about tax
Tax is withheld automatically before payment. What you collect is already net.
The prize checker on this site shows gross amounts, before tax.
Group tickets
For a group entry at an agency, independent tickets are issued to each participant. Each person collects their own share separately.
When payment can be withheld
The company may withhold payment in exceptional cases: where there is doubt that the bearer is the rightful owner, or where there are indications of money laundering violations. For agency tickets, loss or theft are given as examples.
